"Christmas has come early for Superman film buffs: according to the latest issue of the sci-fi film magazine Dreamwatch, Warner Bros has given Richard Donner the green light to restore and release a director's cut of 1980's Superman II."

So, when will they finally release the BATMAN TV show on DVD?

Apparently the holdup with the TV show is that two big studios will have to sign off on it, because Warner Brothers owns Batman, but Fox owns the series. So they'd have to work something out before it can be released on DVD.

Superman II, as by Richard Donner, would be interesting to see. I seem to recall from interviews at the time that most of the film was actually shot by Donner and not Richard Lester. It would be cool to see what choices were different.

I recall somebody on these boards posting a link to a page describing exactly that: which scenes were Lester's and which were Donner's.
