Hi all, I just had to share this. This links to a SNL skit in which Kevin Spacey does imitations of other actors audtitioning for Star Wars.

Not only is it hilarious, but I was floored by what an amazing imitator Spacey is...enjoy! |

| One for the books: Walken really did audition for the part. |

Of course, that was the fact on which the joke was based, This group of sketches also showed Burt Reynolds (Norm MacDonald) as Darth Vader, Richard Dreyfuss (Daryl Hammond) as C-3PO, Barbra Streisand (Ana Gasteyer)as Leia, Walter Matthau (Kevin Spacey) as Obi-Wan and Jack Lemmon (Kevin Spacey) as Chewie.
You know Grand Funk, don't you? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The ... adequate drumwork of Don Brewer? |

I can just see it now:
"Solo (Walken): Luke, your father wanted you to have this lightsabre. He spend 5 years in an Imperial prison, and hid it...."
Well, you Tarantino fans know where THIS is going, so I'll stop. |

| Personally, I'd like to see Spacey and Walken square off in a movie someday. It'd be worth it just to see Spacey impersonate Walken and see what Walken's reaction would be. |

A friend of mine was telling me of a radio interview a few years ago he heard with someone else who does a killer Walken impersonation and actually ran into Christopher Walken after a show. Apparently Walken thought it was funny.
Can't remember the guy's name though (but I recognized it when I heard it). Jay something, I think.

Jay Mohr has been given credit as the first guy to really bring Christopher Walken impersonations to the fore, according to information I've read elsewhere.

"He knew if the Separatists found the lightsaber, they'd take it from him. As your father saw it, that lightsaber was your birthright, and he'd be damned if he'd let some droid get his dirty metal hands on your birthright, so he hid it in the one place he knew they wouldn't look..."

| I think that Spacey did his impression of William Hurt on that same SNL episode. His Walken is pretty good, but his Hurt is just awesome. |
