It's interesting to note, though, that CNN got his age wrong. Mr. Lewis was born in 1910.

They didn't get the age wrong. If you read the article they state that although his birth year was thought to be 1910, Lewis's son reported that it was really 1923. |

I always wanted a basement laboratory thanks to Al Lewis.
God rest him.

| Count me in as another of the regulars who grew up watching "The Munsters". Weird as it may sound, someone had the good sense to add one weekly chapter in the most popular kiddie's program back in the almighty 80s. |

Al was luckey he got such a loveable character to play, and play off of, regards Herman.
I liked both THE MUNSTERS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY. The Addam's were good natured rich folk, and the Munsters were blue collar, and both worked for me. Ah, well....now we gotta wonder whos next. Bummer.

"Car 54, Where Are You?" was a lot funnier than the Munsters. Great ensemble cast: Fred Gwynne, Joe E. Ross (ooh, ooh ooh!), Al Lewis, Charlotte Rae...
She was bred in old Kentucky, but she's just a crumb up here. |
