I just heard over the radio.
The writer of JAWS just died. He was 65.
You're shark story definately inspired a great movie.

I just got his book "The Beast" (the film version of which was so memorably lampooned on this very site) and planned to read it soon. Hopefully the film isn't what he's remembered for.

I read two of his books(Jaws and White Shark) and they both stunk. Sorry to say he was lucky Steven Spieldberg changed Jaws a lot.

I just found out and it bums me out to no end. He was a beautiful human being with a great sense of humor.
Having read The Beast, I can say it's a pretty good book and about a billion times better than the movie. I have no idea why they put plot elements from Jaws 3D into the movie, but they aren't in the book. (At least one element, anyway)
