Enjoyed reading the new issue. I'm an out of touch ex comic book geek. I didn't know about the Ultimates version of Marvel until recently and am looking forward to seeing the UA movie. I had less problem following that review than I did following the Blind Dead review immediately preceding it. Ken, you got a little confused with Beth and Virginia when describing that subplot that led to the zombie woman in the mannequin factory. There's one sentence that refers to Virginia molesting a younger, more naive Virginia that had me wondering where the time machine was, and what that had to do with the Blind Dead.

Still, a good issue and I loved the way you shredded Racquel.

my eyes!! the goggles do nothing!!

Glad to see that VC is back, always good for a laugh when I haven't got the time to enjoy a full review. Loved the Raquel one, but the Avengers one was the highlight; and as said, was actually easy to keep up with, although I'm probably one of the biggest comic book geeks on this board.

Anyway, great work Ken, good stuff. Even funnier than the response I got the other day for my Bibleman reviews.

No, as a matter of fact, there has never been one single time where I've been mellow.

Glad you guys liked it. I really should have proofed it more, but it had been a couple of weeks since I had gotten anything up, and I was afraid if I waited I'd end up not posting it until next weekend, etc.

Hopefully I'll have some time tonight to clean it up a bit.

PEGGY: I don't see how having a girl on the team would ruin it. Did a woman judge ruin the Supreme Court?
HANK: Yes, and that woman's name was Earl Warren.

What I found a bit confusing was that during the interview Ms. Welch says "I like to . . . ride horses" and yet, in the very next segment John Wayne notes she can't ride a horse. Did this odd juxtaposition actually happen, Ken?

Great to see some cheese, and I'm putting Raquel on the ol' netflix queue for the next bad movie party.

At the time "Raquel!" was shown on TV, I had a crush on her. I say without shame that this show cured me!
I also remember that the TV Guide had an artical about this special that focused mainly on the Aztec pyramid scenes.

Frankly, I haven't bothered to read all of Video Cheese yet - as soon as I realized Ken was reviewing Ultimate Avengers, I had to jump ahead to see his take on it.

I myself might never have known about it except for a couple of TV ads, and while I'm not a comic geek (although my other related geek levels allowed me to keep up with his footnotes :) ), I knew I had to see it when I realized it featured Captain America, who never seems to have really been done justice on the screen. My sister and her family rented it on the first night it was out, with none of us really knowing what to expect, and altogether, we had a blast. The proceedings were generally family-friendly enough for my four nieces (and their parents are pretty particular about what they're exposed to), but also mature enough for the adults to enjoy - particularly with the violence, which was appropriately tense but didn't cross the line into being grotesque. Although the running time is relatively short, it sure didn't feel it - once the real action gets started, it's unrelenting and doesn't give you a second to relax until the end.

We're looking forward to part two, and it's great to hear that this might become a full-fledged direct-to-video series.
