Say, I don’t know if you consider requests, but here it goes. About a year ago I was foolhardy enough to pick up an old vhs containing 3 episodes of The Hitchhiker. While two were the standard doses of cliché and mediocrity, I found that one episode stuck with me.
“W.G.O.D” (ep 17) was about a rabid, bible-thumping rightwing radio talk show host (Gary Busey) who gets his comeuppance. Yeah, it was one of those thinly veiled early anti Limbaugnion talk radio diatribes. I might add, that like most whiny liberal diatribes, it was written without the dimmest glimmer of knowledge concerning either religion or conservatism. (I love it when folks respond to an intellectual challenge by creating a stereotypical caricature of the challenger, then thrashing the bogey straw man to death.)
I’m not sure if you have the episode in your collection, but given both it’s overwhelming awfulness and the conservative political underpinnings, I’d love to see your take on it.
