Wow.
That's all I can think of to say about this movie.
Well, that's not all, but pretty much all of ken's comments in the review proved to be true. I was not, however, prepared for just how bad of an actress Crawford was. She can't even sit still convincingly, and that's what she does for those calendars. I also was unprepared for the god-awful camera work. It seemed the director or DP or whoever is in charge of that decision, was in love with a swinginging zoom shot. That is, we start way back and then zoom in. But it's not always a straight zoom. The camera also moves a bit to the right or left, perhaps even turning a little to get a better angle on the thing or person we're zooming in on. It happened at least three times that I recall. It was enough to make me wonder what the deal was with that technique. And the action stuff was just terrible. I knew the romance fizzled but the action scenes and stunts were so bad I could not believe it.
What a piece of crap. |

What a piece of crap.
Now, take it from me: TRY THE BOOK!!!!Its LIGHT YEARS better. Cindy Crawford tried to break into acting with a script Meryl Streep couldn"t have done anything with, and had the scriptwriter stuck to the book, poor Cindy might have been able to do something with the character. |

| Here's an idea Ken may want to play with (or maybe not). He could write a review of Cobra as the second half of a double feature. Cobra and Fair Game are based on the same book. The author must be so proud to know that her one book had TWO crappy movies made out of it. |

It isn't HER ONE BOOK. She's written several, including a series of murder mysteries, set in a small town on the Great Lakes, one of which might well be adapted as the pilot for a TV series. |

Who knows, maybe she's happy with it, as she probably received a big check both times.
Not completely unrelated, someone spoke here months ago of Brian Gardfield, whose Death Wish novel spawned the entire series of actioners starring Charles Bronson. I think he / she mentioned how well his own sequel, Death Sentence, dealt with the vigilante issue. I just read the book myself and can't but agree with that, it's a novel far more thoughful and well executed that any of the mentioned Charles Bronson vehicles. Instead of being an straighforward actioner, it takes the vigilantism of the main character under deep analysis and considers how many things could go wrong if this behaviour became more usual.
Anyway, I was thinking how was possible that Hollywood hadn't done the right thing and adapted this one when a quick search at the IMDB revealed a Death Sentence movie on the works. And, adding insult to injury, I'm almost sure they will schew the serious part of the novel in favour of straighforward action formula.
And so the circle (or circus) of life goes on... |

| I actually wouldn't mind seeing Ken do a review of Cobra, the film is more than overripe for mockery. I've seen others trash it before (Like it wasn't trashy enough) but a Jabootu review would be entertaining for sure. The double review could be interesting- two quite different but very crappy movies based on the same book, which is apparently okay, so what went wrong? |

Apparently an unpretentious, tongue in cheek in places, like the place where the heroine and the cop arive at the safe house dressed as nuns, little thriller wasn't ACTION enough. |
