I just read on another board that Dan O'Bannon and the producers of the original Screamers (1995) are planning a sequel. So far, this is an unconfirmed rumour.
Sounds great to me. O'Bannon is a great writer who needs to do more films, and I absolutely loved the original, which adapted a short story by Philip K. Dick. |

I'd watch it, that's for sure. I've got the original at home, and it is fun to watch from time to time. I hope it is not too much of a spoiler to say that I saw the 'twist' coming from a mile away, but it doesn't really matter on repeat viewings because there is such a cool atmosphere about the film to boot.

I thought the film was great, and it had some great ideas in it. The most interesting notion was that in order to become more efficient hunters, the machines needed a better understanding of man. Also not trying to heft a spoiler, but the understanding they achieved was what made the film for me.
I'm not sure where they could take a sequel, but I'd definitely be interested. |

Yeah, it was a nifty little film. I'd see the sequel.
