I read this sentance at today's (7/20) IMDB "news" section:
"Hollywood veterans see the rise of Marc Shmuger to the head of Universal Pictures and Oren Aviv to the head of Disney as a triumph of marketing over art"
and I almost laughed out loud.
So the recent spate of sequels, remakes, television projects blown up onto the big screen, high-concept junk...these were all made because we've been going through one of Hollywood's "art" phases?

The whole blurb was a confusing mish-mash. I particularly liked this quote:
He's had some of his creativity held back because marketing was not allowed to step on the toes of production.
What is Hollywood if not marketing?!?!
