First, I wanted to thank from the bottom of my heart for the reviews you've written. I find most of them to be absolutely hilarious and given my circumstances at the moment, I need all the laughs I can get. Out of all your works, my favorite has to be the mammoth review you did of "The Trial of Billy Jack". And that brings me neatly to my second point.
Please enjoy your sabbitical. Rest and gather your strength, because when you get back you're going to need it. 2007 is going see the emergence of a movie that will demand your personal attention and every ounce of fortitude you possess. One of Jabootu's greatest avatars has risen again and in 2007 will release what I am sure will be his masterpiece: "Billy Jack's Moral Revolution"! For details, check out his website: http://www.billyjack.com/index.phpmenuID=Page&pid=70
Given what you've already written of Mr. Laughlin's previous films and given his rather extreme views, I greatly look forward to seeing what you will say about his newest film. Unless it is good, of course, but I ask you, what are the chances of that?

He's been promising this for years- it all depends on if he can scrounge the cash. Everyone pray after me:
"Oh please God, I humbly beseech you, let this film actually make it out. Pleeeeeeeease please please please."
Maybe we should take up a collection. *g*

Billy Jack's Moral Revolution?
Good grief. You usually have to delve into fundamentalist Christian cinema to find a film with a title loaded with that much self congratulatory smugness.

Gotta dig deeper than that, Scott. The Omega Code was a pile of garbage, but they had one good idea: a pretty cool title. |

You gotta dig deeper than THE OMEGA CODE. Heck, there were quite a few fundamentalist and evangelicals that thought OMEGA CODE and its sequel were too secular.

How about Megiddo (Omega Code II)!! That title rocks- sounds like a Godzilla movie.

Not this time:
The Trinity Broadcasting Network is pushing the film "A Night With the King" hot and heavy. It is really the story of Esther, but at first, I thought it had something to do with Elvis.
She was bred in old Kentucky, but she's just a crumb up here. |

Scott, I was just talkin' about the title that was bad. But Sardu and Ann just corrected me: two giggle-inducing titles, courtesy of our old friends, Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Oh, and Sardu, thank you so much for reminding me that a hunk of recycled horse manure like Megiddo (chuckle) even exists. |

Why has Jabootu not turned His attention to the Omega Code movies yet?? Does He... fear them?? *g*

He (it?) probably does. One thing is to bash the works of mortals, and another to attack the work of other deities.
I haven't seen The Omega code nor Meggido, but I do have seen all three Left behind movies, and they are certainly Jabootu-worthy. For crying out loud, not only they are packed wth stupidity, but they also star Kirk Cameron. |

I got an even better one out there. It's called DR. SECULAR. The doctor is an evil wicked heathen that needs to be defeated in Aaron Sorkin-style verbal combat by someone more enlightended (and saved).
And remember, that TIME CHANGER flick was produced by people that denounced MEGIDDO as secularized pablum because it didn't include the Rapture.

Ay-yi-yi. I haven't seen Time Changer, but I've heard about it. Did see bits and pieces of Megiddo, and I was dumb enough to see The Omega Code in the theater (at least I paid matinee price). Any one of these would be right at home here, yes?
More on-topic, it'd be interesting to see a comparison between a movie like this, and <snicker> Billy Jack's Moral Revolution. |

...Dr. Secular???????? Good grief, and I thought the Family Home Entertainment movies were a pastiche of thoroughly transparent and completely unsubtle allegory. Just check out the full description on this page. I may have to guest-review this.
(Also, there's a "Bill Jack" credited on one of these movies. Maybe he's Billy's evil-er twin.)

As Adam said, thanks Ken for some great reads, especially concerning Billy Jack.
And as for 'Moral Revolution,' I think the smugness is right at home in the liberal sector, with such high-profile gems as 'An Inconvenient Truth' and my personal favorite, a serious contender for Most Pompous and Self Congratulatory Title/Film Ever: 'The God That Wasn't There.' |
