No Bill Corbett this time. Apparently he's on assignment doing rewrites on the Eddie Murphy film, Starship Dave.
Anyway, Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy are back, and they proudly present:

Oh, frickin' sweet! Now I can Rifftrax (it is so a verb!) to the HD-DVD for Aeon Flux! That means I don't have to be so ashamed of buying it in the first place (I swear I did it for PQ demo purposes only.)

The producers of Ultra Violet paniced when Aeon Flux was released fearing that it would be a hit and that their nearly identical movie would get lost in the shuffle. So they rushed Ultra Violet out unfinished. Aeon Flux was an artistic and box office dud and then Ultra Violet got lost in the shuffle anyway as people thought hat they were the same dog of a movie. Both studios lost their shirts. Rifting on both at the same time would be kind of fun I think.

I have never been happier to hear a Rifftrax announcement. The Wicker Man remake was one of those movies that just seemed like a sucker-punch to my soul. Even aside from La Bute's simple incompetence, his pitiful misogyny and sneering arthouse cynicism just make me sick to my stomach.

Ultra Violet was rushed out out of fear of Aeon Flux. Then it turned out that Aeon Flux was a dog and so was Ultra Violet. one terrible movie copyinfg another terrible movie. Jabootu fans can have a field day with these two movies.

Hehe- I believe that is what happened to Ultraviolet. What I find funny is the idea that if Wim or whatever his name is had had more time the film would actually have turned out good and the only reason it sucks is because it was rushed- theres no way. It was obviously going to be a turd even if he had shot and edited another year.

I'm thinking of downloading that one. I'm scared of it, and maybe The Matrix, they have to know they need to tread lightly because a lot of people worship those films; they're not like the other films that are widely regarded as crap. But AFAIK Mike is a big LOTR fan so I hope they make fun of them in a way that doesn't offend people who like the movies.
