Am I allowed to swear on this board? Can I maybe just publicly wish that Mr. Bay die horribly as a result of complications stemming from a romantic encounter with an unusually well hung gay moose?? The sight of this smirking hack bastard sitting in judgment over these young aspiring filmmakers (a couple of which seem very promising, way damn more talented than him at any rate) and daring to suggest that one "drew a two minute film out to three minutes; tighten your editing" amongst other affronts makes me want to beat him senseless with a reel of Rear Window in the can. And then they showed the trailer to Transformers and he acted as if he had directed the Second Coming Of Christ as opposed to the newest ADD CGI piece of crap.
I hate this man.
Hate.
Thank you, I feel better now.

Okay, let me get this straight. MICHAEL FRICKIN' BAY was a guest judge in tonight's On The Lot?!?! I haven't had a chance to see the show up to now; I've been recording them. Should I go ahead and erase the recordings?

Recorded is the only way you CAN watch it- just watch their short films and have your thumb ready to skip everything else. You can watch a two hour show in about 45 minutes. If you're froggy you can watch Carrie Fischer's comments- she's pretty funny. Avoid Frank Marshall and the Hollywood Hack of the week if sanity is something you desire to hang on to.

I'll keep it in mind. Of course, this show could serve as a warning to people going into the biz: learn to get tough fast, because this is what you're gonna have to deal with.

*lol* I thought the same thing- I picture those contestants getting back to their rooms at night and going "I'm trying to go to work for those idiots? I quit!" That would be great- the first reality show ever where the cast says en masse "We've thought it over, and we don't want it."
BTW, they keep touting that the winner will get this amazing, once in a lifetime $1,000,000 development deal! That might sound huge to Joe Sixpack, but can a million bucks even budget a trailer these days?

For better or worse, I think most of the Sci-Fi Original Movies are budgeted at something under a million. But I could be wrong.

You were not the only one choking on his own bile. I could not believe The Bay was on there, acting like God's Gift to Young Filmmakers. Along with the "tighten up your editing" comment, I about choked on my drink when he derided someone's writing. Yes, Michael Bay. Saying someone's writing wasn't great. Then the ghost of Andy Sidaris showed up and mocked their films for having too much gratuitous nudity and softcore sex.
The lady of the house figured he was connected with Transformers, but has never seen any of his films. I envy her movie innocence...I remember the days before I'd seen Armageddon...the sky was bluer, the grass greener, people always had a smile and a wave for you...*ahem* Anyway... I asked her if she remembered ads for The Island a couple of years ago. She said no. I told her that even his best films (Bad Boys and The Rock) were, at best, "meh...I guess it was ok." She had heard of Bad Boys. Then I told her his best-known movies were Armageddon (which she's heard me deride before but hasn't seen) and Pearl Harbor. That one dropped the dime; even SHE had heard about that debacle. And then she joined me in hooting at him. :)
