| That was great. That guy was spot on, I thought it was Cruise for a moment. The 'I can eat planets' line made me spray amouthful of the cup of coffee I was drinking all over the monitor and keyboard. |

Eh...in my experience most people who watched <whatever> Movie were college or high school kids who cared more about watching a movie than what it was.

| That. Was. Scary. And every time "Tom" started his trademark maniacal laugh, I chimed in. The movie itself may well turn out to be a dud, but that clip was bloody brilliant! |

About ten years ago I became acquainted with a couple who had gotten into a well known ancient eastern religion. The guy'd been practicing for quite some time. Anyway, when the guy would talk about the religion (and experiences leading up to getting involved in the religion), he spoke in the same manner as Cruise (minus the manic moments) -- same sort of "calm monotone", same kind of gestures, same sort of "Everything Has Been Revealed to ME" type attitude (he'd actually used the phrase: "...since I attained Wizdom..."
So it is kind of weird watching that Cruise vid -- it's kind of like deja vu.
I don't think Cruise's bizarreness is exclusive to Scientology -- probably more his own personality (of course the personality is probably the thing that leads people to particular "religions") |
