Amen to that. This is the first time I've come to Jabootu to post something and found somebody had beat me to it. He was a great actor. They just don't make actors-or movies-like they used to. |

One of my favorites. One of the few actors who went beyond "star" or "super-star" to become an Icon in cinema.

Yesterday afternoon, I caught a bio of Patrick O'Brian that was made about ten years ago. Several scenes had Charlton Heston giving little tidbits about the man and reading from some of his work. He looked like the picture of health in those scenes, and I couldn't help but be saddened, knowing how his health had started to take a sharp down turn not long after that interview was done.
Little did I know.
We lost another great one. Rest in peace, Mr. Heston. |

The much of the old gang came from working class backgrounds. They had some experiance at life, and that made their work more real. The Heston had it.
