I'll give Abrams the benefit of the doubt.
Although I'm shocked to see Harold (from harold and kumar) as Sulu. On the other hand, I love Simon Pegg as Scottie. |

I even thought that Heroes guy was a great pick for Spock but that still- maybe it's just a bad angle. And the Kirk mannerisms in the top picture, including the patented Command Chair Slouch are pretty dead-on but I can't make it past the hair gel. And is Kirk wearing eye-liner?? Seriously, did he just audition to sing for Duran Duran?

I thought something very similar the first time I saw the picture of Kirk in the big chair. The guy playing him looks like a cast member on a CW show, not playing James T. Kirk.
