| The great Broadway actress has died at 86. Besides playing Maude and Golden Girls she was ion the original Three Penny Opera and Fiddler on the Roof. |

I loved her in "Maude." One of the best episodes was when John Wayne was visiting the neighbourhood and of course Maude ( a liberal) was dead set against it. So when John Wayne actually shows up, she goes all "Ga, ga" and falls all over herself.
The second episode is when she is up on a stage making some speech (sorry can't remember the reason) and behind her Adrienne Barbeau is dancing in this black bikini and of course the crowd is going crazy. Maude doesn't know about Barbeau and thinks the cheering is for her!
