I don't want to see this. Shatner seems to be turning into Denny Crane right in front of our eyes. I will not allow such a deterioration to diminish his inherent Shatnerosity and awesomeness in my memory.

My buddy produces all of the "100 greatest" shows on VH1, and has worked extensively with Shatner. Says in real life he is a great guy, contrary to what I've heard. He also said Ann Coulter was very nice in person as well. Go figure.

I think everyone forgets that he was ALWAYS like that. Whether throwing chairs on a game show, directing ST5 so "passionately" that his hairpiece came off (with the subsequent dismissal of the batch of extras that saw it), or screaming at Mr. Tambourine Man, he's always been a little off-kilter. And he's long had the reputation for rambling stories with little payoff.
