He's back from his heavy campaigning last year to give movie reviews of 2009 summer films.

Angels and Demons a "masterpiece"?

I think we should put the poor guy in a nursing home.

Forget "Rotten Tomatoes" - I'm going with Billy Jack

Whatever happened to that new movie he was making that would change the world?

I guess it's not longer needed now that George W. Bush is out of office. Because, you know, that alone solved all mankind's problems.

BTW, what are those "9 ingredients" he keeps rambling about? That makes him sound like he's after a muesli recipe rather than a succesful film review.

I'd say you're right on the first count. Just like Nixon during Laughlin's heyday.

But to answer your question. The "9 Ingredient" refers to a book he wrote about film making. The long and short of it is that if you put these 9 plot points in a movie, you are guarenteed box office success again and again.

Here's the book.

BTW, he still hasn't given up on his movie. I posted his movie below. The movie also has 2 new Billy Jack scenes 9 minutes in. It shows Billy going after the Mafia.

*Warning, the talkieness of it may induce vomiting.

Ah, it looks like he lists the 9 secret ingredientes in his "Angels and demons" review. It's the only one I didn't check out. Here they are:

- Undeserved Misfortune that results in both fear and pity for numerous characters.

- Curiosity.

- Visible Villains You Love to Hate.

- A Hero.

- Jeopardy and Sword of Damocles.

- Conflict and Clash of Wills.

- Credibility.

- Beat the clock.

- What if…?

- Humor.

- A Love Story.

- Peripity.

Only that those are 12. Anyway, it sounds quite arbitrary to claim a film MUST have all those ingredients to be a hit. I can think of a dozen films that were hits while ignoring "key" elements. For example, I can't imagine Schindler's list being more succesful if it had some humor (like a nazi soldier stumbling while in formation now and then) or some absurd twist ending (it was all a dream!!!!!).

I'm starting to understand why you guys are constantly poking fun at the guy.
