| Tease him though we might (and he deserved it for Road House), he went way too soon. |

Agreed.
One of the few "pretty boys" from the 80's era that had more going for him instead of looks.
Adios, bud. |

<stands up before the group>
My name is Evangeline Vandergeld and I teared up when I saw Ghost in the theatre at the age of like 12 or so and I still think it is a (flawed) good movie.
I will not apologize for this.
That is all.

I thought Ghost was a great movie and I won't apologize for it, either.
(Coincidentally, my name is also Evangeline Vandergeld.)
RIP, Patrick. I would have posted here earlier, but a polar bear fell on me. |

I thoroughly enjoyed Ghost when I saw it in the theater. Today, I'd probably see it as hokum, but good hokum.
By the way, a local restaurant has a couple of pictures of some of its staff posing with Mr. Swayze. He had business dealing with a horse farm not far from here, and he ate New's Restaurant when he came into town (an interesting choice for a celeb; the restaurant is an out of the way place, not some fine-dining establishment). The people there say he was a consummate gentleman. I'd've liked to have met him.
So long, guy. We're gonna miss you. |

I was on vacation when I heard, but I'm glad I can remember Patrick Swayze this december:

Except for the mullet, I liked several of his movies.

That really is disgusting. Wow.
I'd like them to post a graph: What's the average life expectancy of cancer patients fighting it with Western medicine versus those who exclusively use... quote: "treatments involving Chinese herbal medicine, deep body detoxification that includes sweat saunas and colon cleansing, radical changes in diet from "dead" foods to "live" foods, a healthy dose of vitamin D and the daily consumption of raw anti-cancer living juices made from fresh, organic produce like cabbage, broccoli and garlic."
...?

There is such a study on pancreatic cancers, although I can't find the reference. Median survival time for Western medicine: 14 months. Median survival time for (I believe it was a special diet and enemas): 4 months. Pancreatic cancer is one of the nastiest forms there is.

I liked Road House more than I would care to admit. You left us too soon. RIP

I lost my father in 1990 after a four month battle with pancreatic cancer (four months from diagnosis; we have no idea how long it was percolating before that). Seeing Mr. Swayze's condition toward the end brought back some bad memories; though, seeing him fight through it with determination & dignity...well, my dad would've been proud.
