There are a few paralels between Ken's review and theirs, but it's fresh. They also did one for "alone In The Dark" with "Spoony", another reviewer.
Hey Ken, will you ever make a video review?

Considering what a Luddite I am, probably not. I'm not that telegenic anyway. But yeah, this review was terrific.

Come to think of it, Superman IV reminds me a little bit of The Last Hero by Leslie Charteris.
http://community-2.webtv.net/HermesBoy/saint3/index.html THE LAST HERO's story is driven by a Mad Science invention called the electron cloud... basically a dense cloud of gas which has been pumped full of a tremendous charge of electricity, so that it can be driven forward and sizzle anything it touches into charcoal. International troublemaker Rayt Marius (the Saint's greatest archenemy) is determined to capture the scientist and the invention so that his country can conquer Europe. For his part the Saint has decided that not only should no other nation have this weapon but that it should be destroyed completely, so that not even England would be tempted to use it. And in a surprisingly ruthless decision, Simon is resolved to kidnap the deranged inventor and kill him in cold blood if he won't give up his work. (He's not exactly kidding, either, and this isn't one of those convenient situations where they wrestle over the gun and the bad guy luckily sucks up the bullet.)
In Templar's case, he had what they call a No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup situation.

http://www.supermanfan.net/main/?p=1025 By the way, Superman Vs. Wonder Woman shows how wrong-headed Superman IV stood from the start. In that story, Wonder Woman and Superman clashed over nuclear weapons, with Wonder Woman (similar to Templar's view that nobody should have the weapon in The Last Hero) deciding that nobody at all should have nuclear weapons, and Superman deciding that the US should. |

Enda80 I read some of the SAINT storys and can tell you that Templar was no shrinking violet! In one story, he kidnapped a criminal from the police, WHIPPED him, then returned the guy in a crate maked "handle carelessly" and "any old way up".
