You could call this clip the logicial extension of the writing we saw in Dark Knight. Where motivations are all laid bare.

I challenge you not to hit the pause button and watch the clip straight through.

LOL Indeed, the tendency to explain everything through dialogue, specially everything related to character's motivations, is VERY annoying. When I watch some of this indie movies I think they could make decent radio plays.

The funny thing is that mainstream films are becoming that way too. Specially since the 90s and 00s, when studios seemed to decide to make movies following the classical mode. Really, stuff like Zodiac or 3:10 to Yuma could have been made in the 70s. The only differences are the cinematography and that they last 1/3 too long, because they don't trust audiences to think and everything needs to be spelled out.

Since I consider the 70s to be the greatest filmmaking decade of all time, I'd hardly take that as an insult.

Now if you had said the 80s on the other hand...

I didn't say as an insult, either, my favorite movies are from the 60-70s era. What I meant is that Hollywood seems to be done with MTV style and are going back to their roots. Not a problem, except for the annoying tendency to treat the audience like children.

The same idea was done (even better!) by Da Vinci's Notebook with their song, "Title of the Song."

Very funny. If it wasn't called "Movie Title" it could be called "Informed Attributes."
