In my case, my wish just came true: a longago Hammer Films/Robin Hood epic called Sword of Sherwood Forest starring Richard Greene as Robin and, best of all, Peter Cushing as the Sheriff of Nottingham. The DVD is set to be released in May. Since it's never played much on TV here or even seen a VHS release, this'll be my first time seeing it. Hopefully, it won't be too bad (Hammer Films weren't exactly the go-to guys for swashbucklers back in the day).

We've brought up this general topic off and on over the years: what films are you still hoping will get a DVD release, whether it's the original film, or a special edition/director's cut release, or what have you?

Island of Lost Souls (1932)
Also would like to see Samson & Delilah on real DVD, but since it's now out on over-priced DVDr from Warner Bros, I doubt it.

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

The Public Eye
King of the Hill
Iceman (a proper WIDESCREEN release)
City of Hope

Unfortunately, I doubt any of these will be on DVD anytime soon.

Sad that I've been saying this for ten years and more, but...

GREEN SLIME!

Also Burn Witch Burn, a second on Island of Lost Souls and Quatermass Xperiment, and a letterboxed Star Crash. The AIP stuff like Invasion of the Saucer Men, It Conquered the World, I Was a Teenage Werewolf, and The Amazing Colossal Man that still haven't gotten official releases. I'd LOVE a box set of the various movies that teamed Peter Lorre and Sidney Greenstreet in the wake of the Maltese Falcon; I've never seen any of them.

Good news for awful schlock fans, though, as Otto Preminger's hideous racial drama Hurry Sundown should be hitting shelves later this year. This is because a small company named Olive Video has gotten the rights to a number of dormant Paramount titles; I'd love to see more of this. They will also be releasing the disaster flick Crack in the World, which isn't great, but had a score I always really liked. The laughable soap movie Once is Not Enough is also on their list. Oh, and they'll be releasing Preminger's awful 'with it' hippie comedy Skidoo, which sadly I got stuck watching like five times at various B-Fests back in the day.

Hank Hill, perusing a waiting room magazine: "I'll tell you what, this Goofus fella is a dumbass."

The Starcrash disc I got was a lot more letter boxed than yours was (see here).
