I'd had the idea in the back of my head for a while to end the year with a review of a film I had nothing but praise for, for variety's sake. I wanted to find a little movie that flew in under the radar. Once was the big contender for a while.
When I thought about the one I'm going to write up, though, I got scared. This one may not be easy to talk about. Then I figured, it might be good to try something a little risky. If you haven't guessed, this review will be a big departure. Because of the nature of this film, any write-up I may give it will be dead serious.
Last round of Guess The Movie for the year. This will probably be the only hint: it's the swan song for one of the Great Directors. |

Nope. Although, I gotta admit, it's a reasonable choice, given how much I've fawned over Kubrick in the past.
Let me give one more hint: it was a very quiet film. |

I've started writing, but it'll take some time. Christmas is always a busy time, but the next two-and-a-half weeks or so will be especially hectic.

| Gonna be a bit longer. I've had a lot of things happen in my life in the last several weeks, and I've had to put this one on the back burner. When things calm down here, I'll be able to get the review written. |
