There's always the Defenders. And the New Mutants.

And how can anyone think archery is lame? Dude, did you see the opening ceremonies for the Barcelona Olympics?

My hopes of a High Evolutionary movie are seeming more and more likely to come true.

Yes, there is that as well... hmm.

I wonder if lighthearted superhero films would start to work once the films themselves start getting more "accepted as a genre," once they get more familiar.

I'm kind of reminded of Rustler's Raphsody, a film spoof of 1940s cowboy serials made in the 1980s.

I mean... how many people in the 1980s got jokes about drawing circles around a horse's eye? Well, me, obviously, but you wonder what they were thinking.

We've always been united in stupidity. That's why there is no hope. But, then again, when has that ever stopped us?

Sorry, Jedimom, but i missed the Olympics every year. I just don't care. Never been a typical sports guy, and too cynical to trust the officiating.
And archery in comics just seems....goofey. Maby its cause of Green Arrows outfits...and the boxing glove arrow....

I did, and he missed getting the arrow in the cauldron. The flames started up anyway. (Of course, it worked better than the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics, where the cauldron almost got stuck!)

Sorry Jedimom, but archery is lame in a world where people can run at the speed of sound or laugh off a large caliber bullet to the head. Comics know that archery is lame too, which is why those archers get lots of trick arrows - so they are able to do something outside of what a true archer can do.

In many ways, being an archer in a comic book world should be taken as a desparate cry for help from someone who obviously wants to kill themselves. IMO.

I have nothing aginest Archery, per Se.
I've still not decided on a crossbow, or a good bow for deer season. And i do respect what Byron Fergeson can do with that classic longbow he uses in his exibitions, but as far as comics...yeah. it ain't gettin' it.
