Saw this on the weekend. Although some bits are solidly aimed at children and the jokes can be dumb / seen coming, overall it is quite entertaining. It has a lot of the visual cues of a horror feature - a genre it gently mocks. Also, it is very British, which could be both a plus and a minus, depending on your taste.

The rabbits are well done, Wallace's inventions are joyously insane as always ("Just a bit of harmless brain alteration..." is a great scene) and (like in "The Wrong Trousers" and "A Close Shave") there is another great chase sequence.

Go see it for some light entertainment. (There is also a thing at the very end of the credits which is kinda funny, but maybe not worth the wait.)

I'm a big fan of WALLACE & GROMMIT, so I'm looking forward to seeing this (liked the commercial I saw).

Just a quick Q.

My daughter loved The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave and we'd like to take her to this. Is there anything that might be upsetting to a 5-year old?

If you're not sure we can go with our original plan of scouting it out alone first, but you could be saving us a bit of trouble if you know.

On the taking of children... to the latest "Wallace and Gromit":

I can't say 100% what your child is like (ie easily scared or as tough as nails) but feel it's pretty safe to take along a young child to this movie. There are only one or two scenes of tension and a little bit of character nastiness, but I think it shouldn't get them too riled up.

***SPOILER - HIGHLIGHT TO SEE***
There is a fake death involving Wallace though, which may lead to some teary eyes. Not that I cried. ... I didn't ...

I think you sell this movie short. I found it to be every bit as wonderful as you'd expect a full-length W&G movie to be. And of course there are dumb puns. It is Wallace & Gromit, after all.

Britishness = good. Very good, when stacked against the relentless formulaicness of most American animation.

And yes, your 5 year old will love it, unless she's easily frightened by giant offscreen rabbits.

I admit, I've been a bit meh about all films I've seen on the big screen this year. Don't know why, I just have.

My wife absolutely loved this movie. I was sure she was going to wet herself when the coin purse appeared. (You'll understand it when you see it!)
