Apparently, Harrison Ford has reached the point where, if makes a bad movie, the critics start to rip on his age.

I saw him on some talk show last night (I think it was 'Big Deal' on MSNBC or something like that) & he was looking pretty rough & just a wee bit on the AARP-y side.
I kept expecting him to start complaining about how cold the studio was or that the lights were too bright.

It's not the age, it's the grumpiness.

| Unfortunately, Ford seems to have failed to make the transition from action hero to elder-statesman-actor. Shame. |

I saw "Firewall" today and it wasn't too bad. There were problems with it was better than expected. Also, except for the final scene, they really didn't try to coverup the fact that Ford is getting up there in years. Sean Connery in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" is a great example of someone who shouldn't do any action movies. "Firewall" seemed to try to limit the action or put Ford in positions that were believable.
The ROPe gives you three options, convert, submit, or die. There is a fourth, resist. |

Connery and Eastwood have aged a lot better than Ford has who now looks even older than he actually is. At this point I really hope they don't ever get around to making that next Indiana Jones flick.

Ya know, its funny.
In an interview with Roger Ebert, Ford said that Connery was 12 years older than he was. And therefore, he wouldn't think of retiring until 12 years after Connery did.

| Has anyone ever seen Ford on a talk show? He constantly rooches in his seat, looks off to the side, scratches his face, and maybe mutters a "Yeah" in response to a question. He doesn't speak, rarely smiles, and is incapable of telling a story. I know he's famous for trying to maintain his privacy, but has he become some sort of maniac recluse? |

That could also be because Ford is notorious in Hollywood for being quite the grumpy, unfriendly type in real life.

Just read this topic, and it made me think of this comic:
