Well, from what I've observed of Sony's behavior, I'd say that they probably will stop churning out the Midnite Movies as they aren't new movies. From the perspective of an Anime/RPG/Video Game fan, the Japanese still don't seem to grok American culture. Animes that people find fansubs for like crazy don't get imported, or get tied up (Keroro Gunso, or Sergeant Frog comes to mind right now) but Dice, Dragon Booster, and any number of Pokecrap clones are coming through like crazy. RPG games sell fast and hard here, but the vast majority of RPG games take around a decade or so before they're finally dumped to US markets in limited quantity - in some interviews I have actually read Japanese Exec's saying that 'there isn't as much demand' when asked if some ports were likely.
As it is, over the last 6 months or so, I've seen stores stocking less and less of them. The Best Buys in the area used to have a whole shelf of 'em, and now I'm lucky if I see even one copy.
If I had to forecast, I'd say that Sony will probably sell off most of the cheese stock to companies like Something Weird, and only retain those that could be/are going to be re-made. More likely though, they'll just let them rot somewhere.
