How could they not include Exorcist II: The Heretic? Hands down the worst sequel ever made!!!!

Well, what defines a bad sequel, much less the worst? You can have sequels to incredibly great movies that simply fall short (Jaws: the Revenge), sequels that simply rehash the original, to the point of being essentially a remake (Watchers II) but my vote is going to have to Ewoks: Battle for Endor. Sequel to the TV movie The Ewok Adventure (EBFE and TEA respectively from here on).
TEA wasn't a bad movie, for a TV movie, anyway. I guess if you hated Ewoks, there was little to like about it, but if you didn't mind Ewoks and were a rabid Star Wars fan, like I was, then it's not too bad. The basic plot is about two kids who must rescue their parents from a monster with the help of them little space teddy bears. The core of the story is how the teen son comes of age while going through this ordeal.
So how does EBFE start? By killing off that boy and both parents in the first five minutes, that's how. Completely negating the entire first movie. What a boneheaded idea for a sequel. It's not like the first movie didn't happen. It just didn't matter, that's all.
At least Exorcist II didn't start with Linda Blair getting killed by a bus.

I just have to state again for the record that The Heretic is the greatest sequel ever made. I just don't get why people can't see that *g*
The worst sequel ever may have been the Eddie and the Cruisers sequel. I mean, the first film was merely an asinine steaming turd. The second had none of those redeeming qualities. |
