I seen reports that with Ice Age 2 there is a teaser trailer for the Simpsons movie to be released on this date. I'm assuming that since they went through all of this trouble to make it that it is not an April Fool's joke. Thoughts? http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/va/20060331/114386812200.html |

| Did the Simpsons ever really seem like something that should be made into a feature-length movie? Early on it felt like a parody of the family sitcoms that preceded it. And can anyone think of any family sitcom that garnered itself a movie? |

Give them time on Hogan's Heroes, but they'll cast Denzel Washington as Hogan or something like that.
but then, after seeing a couple of the movies you'd mentioned, and hearing about a few others, the question still stands: can anyone think of any family sitcom that garnered itself a movie? A movie worth watching, anyway? I mean, there's a reason why sitcoms last a half hour. We can't stand these people long enough to watch them for longer than that. |

This would probably have a plot akin to Mr. Burns trying to take over the town with an army of robots or something.
No, as a matter of fact, there has never been one single time where I've been mellow. |

Ah, see you didn't say that. *g* I liked the Brady movies OK- they were a good post-modern idea at the time. I can't think of one other that isn't a huge flaming bag of poo. My major objection to the Simpsons is that it hasn't been funny in over a decade. It's a horrible parody of itself. Homer's character is now literally too stupid to actually be able to live. |

True enough, the Brady Bunch movies were OK, but kind of formulaic.
"Ha ha! Boy, but the 70's were lame. Hey, remember this from the show? Remember this from the show? Ha ha! Man, the 70's were really stupid"
That's the movies in a nutshell. |

A cursory reading of the plot of HART'S WAR looks an awful lot like HOGAN'S HEROES:

On a personal note: my father always said "The Black Guy" from HOGAN'S HEROES (groundbreaking actor/director Ivan Dixon) was his drill instructor in US Air Force basic training, and it was one of his favorite shows.

Speaking of the Simpsons. Here's a link to the live action The Simpsons opening. Enjoy.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoGRM1beFMc&search=The%20simpsons
It's Coacoa Puffs, Bob. I have no idea why, but it fits the equation. |

The one thing that might get me interested in this project would be if Marge does full-frontal nudity. That episode where she became a cop and wore a t-shirt you could tell she's really built.
Coming soon- Eraserhead: The Musical!! |

Maxim actually featured her in a cheesecake spread a while back, and it was pretty easy on the eyes. |

| The simpsons is dead. It died years ago. The show on now is just a hollow shell of its former self, and if they mmake that into a movie, I don't care to see it. |
