This is off-topic for this group but, as this is one of the few groups I participate in these days, I thought I'd ask: Does anyone remember a book from the 80's called "Real Men Don't Eat Keish?" I was talking with one of my younger co-workers about that phrase and how we both like keish quite a bit, actually. He asked me where the phrase came from and I said it came from one of the first big "Men's Rights" books from the early 80's. But now I go looking and can't find any record of the book's existence. Nothing on amazon.com and google pulls up instances of the quote, but no records of the actual book or author. Have I gone mad? I was 100% sure that book was one of the "flavors of the month" in, like, 1983 but now I'm only about 56% sure. |

I don't eat quiche. I use my quiche to unlock my apartment door and start the car. I pay way too much quache for guache, so I often feel like I'm stuck at home on a leiche.
I'm about to get pelted with rotton tomatoes, aren't I. <ducking, running> |

By the way, seeing Pip and hot sauce mentioned in the same post is always a good thing.

Real men might eat quiche but they certainly don't talk about it, nor participate in threads on the subject. Oops, wait... dang!! *g*

BTW there was a sequal, I think, called "Real Women Don't Pump Gas".
It's Coacoa Puffs, Bob. I have no idea why, but it fits the equation. |

My brain is like an old computer with a bum hard drive. Littered with bad sectors. I actually had "quiche" last night and it was quite tasty, but I've never been one to fret about my apparent manliness too much. |

| My dad once tried to order it in a restaurant. He asked for "kwitsche". So, Real Men Don't Pronounce Quiche. |

Speaking of funny words, are you suggesting that I'm prone to fly off the handle and lack panache? I know the meaning of panache, and now you can too:

Prone to fly off the handle? Well, you ARE a redhead....
Now I shall duck and run from the red-headed tornado about to attack with her sharp wit and even sharper tongue.
You still miss that old dog, don't you. I have similar feelings about my mom's dog, Samantha the Pontoon Puppy. |
