Wow, that was fast, I wasn't expecting a new one until the Fall. But, hey, not only do they finally have a MTSed Godzilla flick on video but Giant Spider Invasion to boot! I'm waiting with bated breath.

Off-topic: Ericb, I cannot but adore a man who knows it should be "bated breath" not "baited breath".
Most people seem to assume that the phrase means that one has a worm on one's tongue as one dangles above a trout stream. |

What's also notable about this collection is that none of these movies have been available on video before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the previous DVD sets were simply re-releases of titles also issued by Rhino on VHS. Which means... hey, who knows, maybe in the future we will see a Sandy Frank title or two after all.

I just wish Rhino hadn't abandoned the idea of including the undubbed-over films as an extra. That was invaluable (for instance, its the only way to get Creeping Terror on disc).
Maybe it cost more for the rights or something, but when they can do it, they really should.
PEGGY: I don't see how having a girl on the team would ruin it. Did a woman judge ruin the Supreme Court?

Frankly, I always thought the inclusion of an un-dubbed version of the movies was thrown in as a concession to the studios that made the films rather than the fans.
The idea of watching Manos: The Hands of Fate without the comforting presence of Tom and Crow is too unbearable to even think about. |

That's a pretty cool idea but I don't think he sees the big picture yet. What he needs to do is riff movies still in theaters. It would make going to the theaters to see awful movies fun again. Just take your iPod and have fun. Major studios should underwrite the whole thing, because ticket sales to the big stinkers would go way up. I'd go see Lady In The Water, even. *g*

A (weak) joke because as funny as the riffs are I can't sit through that episode more than once because ain't no movie that drags on and on like a poorly dubbed muddled Italian sword and sorcery bungle, because a poorly dubbed muddled Italian sword and sorcery bungle don't stop. Ever.
