Bond: his epicurean abilities help him fit into the highest society in Monaco Flint: his epicurean abilities help him trace Bouillabaisse to a Marseilles strip bar
EDGE: Flint
Bond: looks a lot like King Arthur Flint: looks a lot like that guy that hung out with Yul Brenner in The Magnificent Seven
EDGE: Bond
Bond: archnemesis is a creepy bald guy with a cat who dresses like Mao Tse-tung named Blofeld Flint: archnemesis is a preppy blond guy who dresses like Tony Randall named Rodney

| What about Matt Helm? He's cheesy, I know, but some of his antics are hysterical. I think in one of his movies he's trying to knock out a firing squad by blowing smoke from his "anesthetic cigar" into their faces. |

Well, if you count exploded expensive secret villians lairs, then Bond wins. Though they did both blow up a volcano real good...

| The problem with Bond is that he used to blow his cover as soon as anybody asked his name. |

I vote for James West (Robert Conrad) - or Honey West, for that matter.

West was cool but he wasn't international, or at least not generally. Maxwell was a bit on the domestic side- he wasn't really swinging!!

Oh yeah! Glad to see I'm not the only Harry Palmer fan on the board. Sure Bond always got the girl, but even he couldn't beat Palmer's wisecracking-ness.
And beat this, secret agents worlwide: In Bullet to Beijing he even implores the henchmen to wait for a curve before they dump him out of the train. Coward, yes, but he lived to spy another day. |

No, but on the other hand, he had a variety of spiffy gadgets, a wide range of credible (and not-so-credible) adversaries from all over the world, and, most importantly, 99.

Hey, don't forget Secret Agent/Danger Man JOHN DRAKE!
Between Bond & Flint, they both have certain points in their favor, but I think Flint has a whole lot more fun, so I think I'd go with Flint (though if I could only own one "secret agent" movie DVD, I think it probably would be either FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE or GOLDFINGER).

Wow, yeah- Drake!! If we assume that he was in fact also The Prisoner he probably is the actual coolest of all.

And don't forget, Matt Helm landed Stella Stevens and Ann-Margret.
Bragging rights, anyone? Take that, 007! |
