quote: Carnotaur: I don't think those things are even as big as a T-Rex. How one of them is going to be enough to threaten the world is beyond me, when one T-Rex couldn't even threaten all of San Diego properly...
What's so threatening about dinosaurs anyway? If there's only one then it's nothing couple of moderately armed cops couldn't handle and even if there is three or four I'm sure the county police can handle it and not even have to bother calling state troopers in. One thing that bugged me about the Jurassic Park films was the conceit that if these ancient animals were ever released into the wild they could somehow out-compete the animals that were already there, you know the animals that actually evolved to live in that environment.

And now that you mention it, Ericb... Why assume the dinos would survive all the germs that they were not adapted to, when they were cloned from anchient DNA? Or would that apply only to Martian dinos?

I just assumed that, since they messed around with the DNA, making them sterile and lysine deficient and what-not, they spliced in immunities to that sort of thing. I'm sure Ms. Elizabeth Kingsley could tell me ten ways that wouldn't work, but it was specious science fiction anyway, so why not?
--------------- Thanks to Severed Ties I always giggle when I think of lysine. |

Lovely - another H.P.Lovecraft adaptation. How do you turn "Cool Air" into a full length film? The best adaptation I saw was in "Night Gallery" ( http://www.thelurker.com/tv/coolair.htm) which was pretty good, actually. Especially since that series had so few really good episodes. It covered the tale quite well and only ran about 25 minutes!
