I got a question....what is the worst Superhero costume you can recall?
I mean, spandex is tradition, but come on! Some heros/villians are way too goofy for words.
Sooooo....
What outfits are mindbogglers, and what might YOU wear, if you were a superhero/villian type?

TV, movie or comic book versions?? I'll tell you this- I'm not wearing anything with rubber nipples. Not in public, anyway.

I got two words... dramatic pause... bat nipples.

It's Coacoa Puffs, Bob. I have no idea why, but it fits the equation.

Apparently no one likes the bat nipples, which puzzles me. What child wouldn't like to suckle at the Bat Man?

Comic book artists are essentially drawing nudes when they draw superheros. The costume is just an excuse. To gain the same effect in a movie the hero should thus be nude but have a fantacy of a body like they do in the comics. Thus any spandex copy of a comic book costume is bound to be rather silly. The silliest I ever saw though is from the 1948 Batman serial. The actor who played Batman in that serial has described it as "just about as bad as a movie can be".

In GAH's defence, there was an implication that it WAS a silly look, but a superhero's gotta wear what a superhero's gotta wear.

The silliness of the costume in Great American Hero was all part of the shows central joke.

The best looking spandex character on tv though was Teri Thatcher as Ultra woman on an episode of Lois and Clark. She was (and is) hot.

Aquaman's old orange and green costume was ugly. So were Aqua-Lad's and Mera's, for that matter.
I guess there's a reason Atlantis isn't know as the fashion capital of the world...

I think my vote has to go to the Clock King, though. Not a superhero (or even a supervillian), but no hero has ever worn something this ugly... http://www.seanbaby.com/stupcom/clockking.htm (some swearing, so maybe don't open it at work)
Look at him! Pastel blue and yellow, for Jabootu's sake!

Clock King...Oy!
Now there is what i mean. He just looks silly! And that ...what, is it a mask? Must be tough to live with heros wanting to "Change the time" a lot....Yeesh...

The clock king certainly takes the cake for stupid comic book costumes. What is your opinion about movie and tv costumes?

Incidently, the entire "Ultrawoman" Lois and Clark episode can be seen on the AOL.com web site along with dozens of other tv shows, for free and in their entirety. They also have many episodes of Maverick, my all time favorite tv show. Now I am in real trouble.

Terri Hatcher is hot,hot HOT. Oh my. Spandex becomes her.
