I suggest a corollary of the "Avoid the Limbs Rule":
Avoid the head:
"If a character is wearing a bulletproof vest, yet clearly has an unprotected head, it is unsporting to shoot him in the unprotected area. "
See, for instance, the movie Serenity. The bad guy has a bulletproof vest, but all the hero can think of is running away.

| Hey, the head's a limb, isn't it? At least, it does tend to stick out a bit. |

In one of the recent Bond movies, Bond shoots a terrorist durring a virtual reality exercise who is holding Moneypenny. BUT he shoots the guy in the hand that is OVER MONEYPENNY'S CHEST, which means that the bullet would have gone through his hand and into her lung or heart.
In the TV show "Black Scorpion", the (snort!) "heroine" is confronted by the villianess holding her partner at knife-point. She QUICKLY shifts her aim and shoots HIM in the knee, almost crippling him, forcing the villianess to drop him and run away! if she could have hit such a SMALL target after moving her pistol QUICKLY, why didn't she shoot the badgirl IN THE HEAD?

I just watched Serenity yesterday. Thought I was in for maybe a slightly better than average "Sci-Fi Channel" movie, but was pleasantly suprised by a movie with a not horrible storyline, interesting characters and quite witty dialogue.
Some decently choreographed fight scenes too. Who the heck is that girl?
I found the villain to be one of the more interesting bad guys I've seen for a few movies.
Especially when he calmly admitted that he was a monster. And that he understood that his evil had no place in the utopia he was trying to create. Probably much like Stalin and others may have rationalized their own brutality just so long as it was a necessary step towards the "glorious future"... |

Citizen - which girl? I assume you meant River Tam (Summer Glau) from your reference to choreography, but the Companion Inara Serra (played by Morena Baccarin) mechanic Kaylee (Jewel Staite) or Zoe (Gina Torres) are all pretty damn good too.

| My guess is that he means Summer Glau. She's trained as a dancer, which I'm sure becomes handy for the fighting coreography. |
