In the ironic style of American Werewolf In London, "Turn Around" by The Lettermen would work in any slasher type movie... you remember...

You'll notice how often covers are used for "unobtainable" songs, especially Beatles tunes. That usually works for me, but there are a few times when it grates (Such as Fiona Apple singing "Across the Universe" at the end of Pleasantville.)
