It takes more than being "controversial" in order to get me to fork over 8 bucks to see a movie, and that is all it sounds like Brokeback Mountain really had going anyway.
Really. For what possible reason would I want to see a movie about a love affair between two men? Because it had the unprecedented "western" setting as a backdrop?
I wouldn't have seen the movie if it had a man and an extremely hot woman in it. After all, I can download Jenna Jameson for free...
But I digress.
Again, I ask why Brokeback Mountain and not Romeo and Juliet? Teenage lust and hormones and young love are something 12 year olds might actually be able to sympathize with, rather than a couple of rump rangers out amongst the sheep. |
