This was a 1950s novel by Heinlein that I read as a boy and loved. So, 10 years or so back I see a movie of the same name at the video store and get all excited.
Afterwards...well it was OK, but it kinda left me thinking that it should have been so much more.
Now, many years later, I understand why:

| Yep, that was an early screenplay for the dynamic duo of Rossio and Elliott. Still haven't seen the movie. At the very least, I would hope it's better than their Pirates sequels. |

You mean the one with Donald Sutherland? It's very similar to an X-Files episode. it has its moments (the climax it's not one of them), but as an adaptation it is a complete failure.
Hope it never gets adapted again, it's one of my favourite SF novels, and I don't think anybody could replicate its bizarreness / political reading. |

| Yep, that's the one. With Julie Warner, too. Whatever happened to her? At one time, wasn't she supposed to be the Next Big Thing? |

| Also, refresh my memory: wasn't Roger Corman's It Conquered the World loosely based on Puppet Masters, too? |

I think The Brain Eaters was the 50s movie based on The Puppet Masters.
