Check this out: http://www.cinecutre.com Click on "Reportajes" and then on "Dispare cuando le ordenamos, cuando se lo ordenemos".
It's a small piece on some of all those Laserdisc / early PC games that made extensive use of the then new FMV technology. Which means you had to point / shoot over grainy footage that is definitely Jabootu-worthy. If not, check out the Youtube videos included, specially those from the "Crime Patrol" series.
My only gripe is that those games must be difficult to find and maybe they won't run on modern PCs anyway. Too bad. |

Actually, you can run some free DOS emulation software, like DOSBox, to run older PC games. Plus, if you are looking for some older games that might be non-copyrighted now, you can check out Abandonia. They have a slew of games that you can download for free.

Yeah, I know DOSBox well, it's a fantastic program. I use it to play old MicroProse flight sims or "UFO - Enemy Unknown" during my spare time. Now that you mention it, those games probably are from the 486 / Pentium I era, they should run easily. Others have Sega CD versions available, and the system is emulated too.
My point in mentioning the issue of running those games in modern PCs was more because I was putting myself in the shoes of future reviewers. Damn, that stuff is certainly Jabootu worthy, that Tony Montana wannabe from Crime Patrol still has me cracking up. He's even better than Jordi Mollà in Bad Boys II, and that was already quite hysterical. |
