I keep saying it over and over. And I plan to keep on saying it. Why can't low budget filmmakers get their act together and come up with something clever or interesting?
They are constantly being upstaged by Internet filmmakers who show that a little planning and imagination can go a long way.

And to compare:

Not bad for two guys and a few pieces of cardboard and paper.
*a little advice. Hit pause and let the video load a little bit before you hit play again.

Those wacky French and their low budget homages to high-tech wizardry. First Michele Gondry and now this! Very cool.

I'd love to hear that these guys sent a copy of this to Steven Lisberger or Jeff Bridges with a note saying, say, "With our compliments." You gotta admire them. Great stuff!

Be honest.
Was it good? Or did the sound effects really help sell it?

Well, yeah the sound sells it but that's equally true of the original. It's good.

Considering it was done with cardboard and lights, that was very nicely done. I think the best part is the attention to detail they showed in replicating the scene.
