Inglorious Bastards Out of Carolina - a poor mother and daughter from South Carolina volunteer for a commando mission behind Nazi lines in order to escape an abusive household. Pop culture references verbosely stated in Southern drawls ensue (2009 version only)
Oceans' Twelve Monkeybones - In a future where most of mankind has been wiped out by a virus, Danny Ocean assembles a team of smarmy con men who must use a combination of remarkable timing, unbelievable coincidences, and incredible luck to go back in time and steal an Exit Pass from Death so that they can identify the source of the virus and prevent nightmares.
Little Miss Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - a young girl decides to erase the memories of her attempt to win a beauty pageant.
Vanilla Sky Captain and the Day After Tomorrow - A rich playboy with not a care in the world has his life turned upside down after he crashes his plane when fighting giant robots who were programmed to alter earth's climate with a super storm straight out of Al Gore's wettest dreams.

I liked the Pink Floyd/Wall-E one too. In fact, everyone is coming up with awesome ones (Vanilla Sky Captain and the Day After Tomorrow- nice). This thread is more creative than Hollywood has been in 30 years :-P

Chocolate Powder: An autistic, bald albino with mysterious powers and a love of cacao learns the secrets of the martial arts so that he may raise the money for his mother's chemotherapy by extorting those who mocked him.
Godzilla Told Me To: A police detective tries to discover the truth behind a rash of brutal crimes, each of which culminates in the culprit claiming a giant radioactive dinosaur commanded them to do so.
Passion in the Midnight Sun: A Swedish stripper is kidnapped by aliens, but manages to escape. The aliens send their pet gimp, as well as a large yeti, to retrieve her, leading to an extended chase sequence over the tundra where the woman continually stops fleeing to skinny-dip and sunbathe in the nude.
God-beast of Indian Yucca Flats: Tor Johnson is exposed to radiation while visiting a sheep ranch, turning into a hideous monster that ambles around terrorizing people and molesting dead women while cowboys try to catch it with lassos and Coleman Francis hunts it from his light aircraft.
The Beyond Rangoon: A woman trying to pick up the pieces of her life after her husband is murdered by a bloodthirsty mob for his supposedly Satanic paintings travels to Burma, where she is caught up simultaneously in an uprising against the brutal dictatorship that runs the country and a battle against the forces of Hell itself as a gateway to the Underworld opens and the dead start to walk and kill.
Jack Frost: A boy is so distraught over his father's death that he tosses a bunch of logs high into the air. The boy's fervent wish brings his dead father back to life as a magical snowman that proceeds to kill everyone in town. Meanwhile, a wacky old man with a toadstool on his head turns the boy into an anthropomorphic bear, but later forgives him and gives him a hot little Finnish chick as his girlfriend. Eventually the clubs come back down, bonking the heads of the opposing hockey team, allowing the boy to win the big game just before he lures his rampaging snow-father into a pickup truck bed filled with antifreeze.

RING OF BRIGHT WATERWORLD: In a post apocalyptic society, London civil servant Kevin Costner retires to the Scottish highlands with his pet otter.
LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: Eugene O'Neill, his father, and his brother struggle to cope with a morphine addicted wife and mother inside the house and flesh eating zombies without.
HANNAH AND HER THREE SISTERS: Woody Allen angst in rural Tsarist Russia.
This is connecting PLAY titles, rather than MOVIE titles, but I felt it was too good to pass up: Waiting for Lefty Godot - Theatre of the absurd at a stormy, Depression Era union meeting. |

It occurs to me now that I should've made that "Mr. Jack Frost" and added stuff about a psychologist and her star patient, who claims to be the devil. Just to stretch that mess out even further...
Thank you hbrennan. That and The Beyond Rangoon were my favorites. I liked Along Came a Spider Baby, by the by.
