It's been many years since a horror movie actually frightened me. Well, at least that was true until I went and saw "Drag me To Hell". Sam Raimi, best known for the Evil Dead and the Spider-Man movies, returns to his roots and makes a good old-fashioned horror movie. This movie is full of shocks, disgust and even a little humor. If you like getting the crap scared out of you, you must see this movie!

Have to agree, Drag Me to Hell remembered that just because it's a horror film doesn't necessarily mean that it can't have a compelling storyline. And bravo to Raimi for being able to deliver a serviceable PG-13 horror flick, a goal that's somewhat anathema to Hollywood these days.

I completely agree - although I found some of the elements predictable, it still was a pleasure to see a "traditional" approach to a good horror flick.

I enjoyed it but not for a second did I regard Drag Me to Hell as a genuinely scary movie. A fun and cheesy romp but not frightening.

I am more with Cannon Fodder. I thoroughly enjoyed Drag..., but was not really frightened by it -- much more of a romp than a scare. The only part that really got to me [(SEMI) SPOILER!!!!!] was the part that required sacrifice of someone from her household. That was a bit of a gut punch.

But definitely fun!

Really? Perhaps the movie just didn't press your buttons... although my main creep is zombies and there was a definite lack of zombietude in the movie.

Seen it this afternoon and had a blast with it. It's not as charming as earlier Sam Raimi horror-comedy hybrids, and most of the blame should go to the easy frights and the CGI gore, but the nasty-funny mix worked great and I had a blast with it. Great to see Alison Lohman going wild too, she was terrific.

Yeah, anyone who has seen a Tom Green movie will appreciate how closely comedy and horror are related.

Actually, I find Tom Green's stuff almost pure horror - especially if you actually paid (in any tangible form) to see his "work". "Freddy Got Fingered" beats "Dawn of the Dead" by a mile.

I have decided I do not want to be the kind of person who would voluntarily see a Tom Green movie. I'm just happy to read Eva's review and think of the things I'm spared because of her. Her sacrifice to the Demon Lord Jabootu means a lot to me. Thank you.

Ironically, Mr. Clay is another "comedian" who needs to fade into history.

I think he already has by now. "The adventures of Ford Fairlane" has cult status in my country and it's one of my favourite guilty pleasures, but I've tried to watch his stand-up act a few times and found it revolting.
