From the article, it sounds like Caine isn't planning to formally retire. Since he apparently only takes roles he wants very much to play, he's arguably semi-retired as it is. I imagine he'd never formally announce his retirement, so he'd remain open to offers, just in case something really good comes his way.
You know Grand Funk, don't you? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The ... adequate drumwork of Don Brewer? |

| We should admit that during the last 15 years or so he has reformed and (mostly) stopped appearing in crappy films. But, is that enough to atone for the likes of Jaws: The revenge or the definitely Jabootu-inspired Blue ice? Let the Jabootuites decide. |

| I would imagine he's still under contract to play Alfred in future Batman sequels, so true retirement would be years off yet. |

Wow. I only remember two things about that movie and neither of them has anything to do with Micheal Caine *lol*
