I am FSU Class of 1981 and when I was there Bobby Bowden was doing great. He had taken a moribound team and defeated a great Nebraska team in Nebraska (with a walkon center no less) and was in the mighty Orange Bowl against a number 1 Oklahoma team. He had done the same turn around at West Virginia. But he is now in his 80s and seems to have lost control. Bowdin is a real charmer, he is very accessible very funny and a sports writer's dream. But last year a cheating scandal forced half the team out just before a bowl game. Next year's team seems to be weak as well as Bowdin just cant recruit them as he used to. The program just isn't the prestige team it once was. They cannot recruit the best players nor the best coaches. Iam sad to say it but Bobby has outstayed his welcome.

I just got sick of getting blasted every year by Free Shoes U. Trying to keep our people interested and involved when you're losing by 35. FSU ripping us on the field and PSU/VTech recruiters in the stands sidling up to the signee's parents. You could almost read their lips: "You don't want your son to play for these losers, do you?" We had one recruit actually sneak out of the stadium at half time.
