In the comments of the Rocky IV review, someone mentioned the possibility of doing a mass Readers' Review of the Alien series. While recovering from a root canal today, I watched the series in one shot (the packaging of the Quadrilogy is cumbersome, ain't it?), and I rreeaallyy wanna dissect the third one, because it's half good/half lousy, just the way I like it.
If I do it, anyone wanna do the others? I think it'd be neat.

I'd be tempted to go after Alien Resurrection, but work is insane right now, and it doesn't show any sign of slowing up for at least a week or two. Sorry.
But I would like to read your review of Alien Cubed. I won the quadrilogy in a contest a few years back, and I've never bothered to watch the last two films, mainly because I thought killing off Newt and Hicks was a slap in the face.
Kinda OT, but I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in comparisons between director's cuts and theatrical cuts. The "Director's Cut" of Alien was anything but. Ridley Scott was more than satisfied with the original cut of Alien, and it looks like the studio meddled with it just to say they had a new cut now.
Hmmmmmm. Waitaminute.
Star Wars.
I'd better shut up, before I talk myself into doing more typing at night when my fingers and brain will be exhausted during the day (from last-minute data entry work, ya pervs). |
