"Hell, how about rigging up a closed-circuit camera system to monitor their captives? They have stuff like that in your average 7-11 store."
I must say that I had no idea that 7-11 even took captives. Unless you count some of the zombies behind the desks... :)

Asta, the Big Gulp is spiked with, uh, hypnosis formula. One drink, and you're theirs forever.
Yeah, that sounds good, that's the ticket. |

Ken - Interesting that you mentioned the similartities between Red Tornado and Samurai's powers. On a recent episode of Justice League Unlimited an army of clones of the "Ultimen" (JLU versions of Samurai, Apache Chief, Black Lightning and the Wonder Twins with different names) attacked the JL headquarters. During the fight we learned that 1 Red Tornado = 3 Wind Dragons (Samurais).
I also liked a scene where one of the clones burst into a room where all of the non-superhero technicians who kept the Justice League satelitte running had been hidden during the fight. The workers looked scared for a moment, but then grabbed wrenches and crowbars and rushed to join the fight. Not even the mechanics are scared of the Superfriends characters! |

That is hilarious! Thanks, hopefully someday they'll release season sets of JL & JLU instead of these stupid double episode discs.
PEGGY: I don't see how having a girl on the team would ruin it. Did a woman judge ruin the Supreme Court? HANK: Yes, and that woman's name was Earl Warren.

Ah, has there ever been such a melding of the totally cool with the completely lame as Challenge of the Super-Friends? Like the awesome title sequence and theme music, which promises an eager kid all-out action to rival the comics (or even exceed them - it's not that often even the JLA fights this many super-villains at once, and they're often united against some single lame-o like the Key.) And then the always-disappointing results....
"Presumably, there was a possibility that Krypton could have been saved."
Interestingly, the way the story is traditionally told, there really isn't. Generally speaking, Jor-El's argument is something like "The world will end Real Soon Now, so we've gotta start building a Ginormous Space Ark to save our population." (I think one "Elseworlds" story actually showed what would happen if, instead of one baby in a rocket, a whole friggin' arkload of mature Kryptonians land on Earth. Short answer: nothing much good, at least from the perspective of homo sapiens....)
Some retellings do play with the notion that Krypton could have been saved somehow, but the "classic" version has Jor-El presenting the crazy-sounding idea that they have to abandon a(n apparently) perfectly good planet.
Another random note: El Dorado wasn't created until sometime after this season (and sometime after I stopped watching, as I don't believe I ever saw an episode that had him.) |

I LOVE the part where Green Lantern rescues himself. The way he had his arms folded, at first I thought he arrived before Superman and was going to say something sarcastic like, "Well, SuperSLOWMan, 'bout time you got here!"
Then I realised it was a continuity error. Either way, it's hilarious. |

Review: "We can learn a great deal about the Legion of Doom from their computer files," Batman opines, "but there's no time."
Um, Bruce, you have THE FLASH with you! He's standing right there!
I'm not sure what Carl is implying here. Does the Flash have super-fast reading/learning ability? I know that on Challenge he probably does, but otherwise I thought his powers were physical. If he could read and think at super-speed he'd be pretty much unstoppable. (Except for the fact that, on Challenge, he's an idiot.) |

He can do everything else at super-speed, so I assume he can read that way. Certainly he can recognize people and objects while speeding.

I think I commented on the effects of preventing some superheros from existing when I recomended this episode months ago, so I'll say something else:
My favorite scene was when Wonder Woman was standing behind Batman and Robin at the forrest fire. Bats says something like: "The fire is out! (Wondie disappiers) I told Superman that we could handle this by ourselves, Robin." It was a nice moment.
In the old Sensation comic, Princess Diana DID wear that skimpy mask. She even pretends to stumble when the contestants (Some of the Amazons didn't compete) passed in review before the Queen so her mother couldn't get a good look at her. But in "The All New, Origonal, Wonder Woman", ALL of the contestants wore masks so that they wouldn't hold back while competing against a girlfriend (Come on, let's admit it!). Comicbook geeks watching the movie started crying "foul" when a BROWN-HAIRED woman won because Wondie has BLACK hair! She then takes off her mask and wig to reviel Linda Carter! That was kind of cool.
What they SHOULD have done in this cartoon was have Bizarro Superman gloat something like: "There not be Superman to save you now!" and suddenly a blond teen flys in to knock him into the next block while saying: "That's SuperGIRL, you backwards doofus!" I'd like to see the Legion's reaction to THAT! I mean, AFTER Scarecrow wets his pants.

"Imagine a world in which you tried to kill somebody with a pistol, and having failed, were precluded [from] ever using a handgun again."
Sounds good, actually.
"Still, as the team’s sole distaff member, she’s probably the only one who knows where anything is kept. So yes, having, say, the Dynamic Duo delayed while they root around their dresser drawers looking for their utility belts probably would have an adverse effect."
*flat, cool gaze up at Ken over folded arms*

Yeah, now that you mention it.........

And don't forget that the BOYS would have a tough time finding their way to the next crime scene, what with not haveing someone who can ask for DIRECTIONS and all.

I should hope. Otherwise he'd be like the Wizard of Speed and Time slipping on a banana peel.

Not to mention not having someone to fix the snacks to munch on upon their return. (ducks)

This is a small note:
As I recall it, the accident that caused Lex Luthor to lose his hair and gain his hatred of Superman stemmed from Luthor working on something that would make Superboy immune to Kryptonite.
