Mostly agree, even though on paper Jack Black
might not be the right choice given his resume.

Well, the performances he has given so far (especially School of Rock and High Fidelity) show that he can do intense obsessional; perfect for an obsessional director.

In honor of this new remake, Ken should review the first remake. (I read his reviews of the other giant monkey movies over in the Nuggets section) I think I may have seen the first remake but it was a VERY long time ago, back when my age was still in the single digits. I have very vauge memories of Kong stepping on some people and seeing them flattened(but no blood, oddly) inside his footprint.

Reviewing KONG '76 might also be a good excuse for a
(non-mawkish) WTC memorial of some sort.

Non-mawkish? What does that mean?

Actually, a review of King Kong '76 would have to be mockish, even if non-mawkish.

We want The Hobbit! There's a trainload of money at stake, so I don't want to hear about who has what rights. Just work it out and make the movie.

I have spoken.

Thanks for clearing that up. You're right about that.

I thought Ken already did giant apes. I read his reviews of them over in Nuggets. Or did you mean the Kong movies specifically?

Even if he has, there's ALWAYS room for more giant monkey movies.

Heck with The Hobbit, I want Jackson to do Discworld. Any one of them. Pick your favorite, PJ!

I saw the 70s remake on TV last night. It was even WORSE than I remembered it! (This time they showed the gunship crashing into the tower)
