One of the all time greats. My 3 all time favorites: 1. When he and Floyd were captured by the escaped female prisoners. 2. When he went about riding that WWI era motorcycle with that white helmet and goggles (looking for all the world like a large fly). 3. The "Citizen's Arrest" episode.

A terrific character actor, he'll be missed.
I always thought he would have made a great psychotic killer in a serious film. That twitchiness....

Back in the day he also headlined in a series of hilarious movies, including The Incredible Mr. Limpet and The Love God (in the latter he plays a mild-mannered ornithologist who's bird-watching magazine is changed into a girlie mag by an unscrupulous underling. the scene that had Knotts traipsing across the screen in full Hugh Hefner getup with a bunch of busty chicks hanging off his arm was pure comic genius...).
He will most definitely be missed.

I loved his character in "Three's Company". The show sucked, but I loved his character.
