I ADORE Solaris (the remake), and I even have fond memories of the original... which I watched like 15 years ago on TV.
Those who disagree will have to face my light-butterknife. I said. |

I do not go to theatres. I prefer to get movies on TV on via CD or VHS. However, I walked out on the last movie I ever saw in a theatre, which should tell you the date.
Title: Looking for Mr Goodbar. A friend took me thinking it was a different Diane Keaton movie, Annie Hall was what he got confused on. I walked out because I found the film totally devoid of content and totally unnecessary. Keaton did not have to make this movie to stay in show biz and I was disappointed that she succumbed to this type flick.
PS: The friend who took me was very apologetic and embarassed. OK, so I'm an old fart. At the time I was under 40. It was still unnecessary.

| I don't understand why hardcore bad movie fans would walk out on any movie. I mean, the worse the better right? |

See, there's good bad, and then there's bad bad. Good bad is good fun to watch; bad bad is...well...bad to watch.
Examples: Good Bad - The Giant Spider Invasion Bad Bad - the non-MST'd Monster a Go-Go

For me it was Good Will Hunting, I wa so bored by this alleged modern classic that i walked out on it, about a third of the way through.

The only time I had to walk out on a movie was actually a stroke of luck. I chosse what movie my wife and I go to about 90 percent of the time. To get back at me for taking her to see "From Dusk til Dawn" (the scene introducing the 3rd incarnation of Cheech, with him repeating a certain word over and over, really set her back), she decided a bunch of us would go see "Hope Floats". As it was fairly terrible, she nearly had her revenge, however during one of the "emotional" scenes, where Sandra Bullock is dancing with her confused and elderly father, the projection became screwed up, and we could only see the tops of their heads, and the boom mikes hovering above them (apparently the boom mikes are always visible, but shouldn't show up on the screen, as they should be projected ABOVE the screen). Needless to say this cut down on the pathos. So we were able to walk out, and get our money back.
I can also say I was VERY tempted to walk out of the last Batman movie, even though I was in a dollar theater. |
