I don't have a fancy pants name for this or nothing, but it's something I've noticed lately and I can't help wondering what's up.
At the begining of Anaconda is this little note, white text on a balck screen:
"Alone among snakes, anacondas are unique. After eating their prey, they regurgitate in order to eat again."
Or something to that effect.
The film Wrong Turn had a similar note about how inbreed psychos don't feel pain and are hard to kill and stuff.
Now, what's up with this? The Wrong Turn one is just stupid. I mean, the crazed killer is tough to kill? Impervious to pain? Well, that's fresh! But the Anaconda one is silly. It immediately gets you thinking "Well, I wonder who the snake is going to barf up?"
It seems lazy on the part of the writers to not put some line in there mentioning how anacondas and the BMF's of the snake kingdom and will barf up prey they've just eaten to kill them again. With all the scenery Voight was chewing, he could have mentioned that little tidbit.
Is this some new thing or am I nutty?
"The MacGuffin that turns our to be a big fat MacNuthin'." |
